Overview

To celebrate the 200th anniversary of Pittsburgh as an incorporated city, Mayor Bill Peduto created the Bicentennial Commission, which included a seat for A to Z. Charged with creating a distinctive logo, usage guidelines, brochures, public message platforms, posters, a website, videos, and public and media relations, A to Z worked diligently against tight deadlines to produce the materials and campaigns.

The logo became ubiquitous, appearing on everything from flower seed packets to patches on the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pirates uniforms.

A to Z planned press conferences, assisted with a parade and festival, and participated in the National League of Cities conference in November as panel speakers on social media.

Positive outcomes included more than 400 business partners and more than 1,400 media articles and interviews.
